Freelance Digital Project Manager
We are looking for an unflappable mid-level Project Manager for sustainability and digital projects. You are someone who can handle complexity without pulling out your hair, keeping teams on a tight schedule to deliver beautiful, quality products on time and on budget. In addition to impeccable communication skills, you have a sense of humor, and must be able to gracefully manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
This isn’t just a “traffic” role. You are a collaborator who will set projects up for success, manage day-to-day team and client relationships, and even hop into the process—checking changes, owning quality, leading meetings.
Location: NYC metro area hybrid T/W/Th, open to the right person. Duration: 3-4 months Immediate start, through March/April (potential for future full time). Rate: $1,500 – $2,250 / week (DOE)
What you will do:
- Manage: Risk, assets, scope, schedule, and budgets for several concurrent web and print/pdf projects.
- Contribute: Help execute. Hop into the process when required, helping to make text changes in HTML, check changes, write notes, and more
- Communicate: Act as the bridge between clients and our team; advocate for the win-win.
- Clients: Manage day-to-day client relationships, both independently and with the Partners and Project Management team; advocate for the client and IOP, finding the win-win
- Quality: Assure accuracy (change checking); responsible for the quality assurance; maintain lessons learned during projects
- Meetings: Host efficient meetings, set clear agendas, and ensure everyone understands the goal. Create notes.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a project management role preferably at a digital agency, design firm or creative agency
- Expert organizational skills with an insane attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Digital Fluency: Microsoft Office, Asana, Git/GitHub, Harvest, and more; you aren’t afraid of Creative Suite; working knowledge of HTML/CSS and other web technologies (you’re not a developer!)
- Bachelor’s degree required; PMP (or working toward it) is a plus
- Preferred: Reside in the New York metropolitan area, ability to work on site (hybrid)

Salary range equivalent: $1,500–$2,250/week (based on years of experience, work samples, and industry expertise)
