Oshkosh Corporation partnered with IOP again in 2024 on their sustainability report, “Empowering everyday heroes with sustainable solutions.” IOP led strategy, writing, and design for the report. Working cross-functionally with Oshkosh’s sustainability, community, and marketing teams, we brought together complex data and perspectives into a cohesive report narrative. The report captures year-over-year progress on goals and shares the ever-evolving story of how Oshkosh’s sustainable solutions are powering safer, smarter neighborhoods and job sites worldwide, and their commitment to a People First culture.
IOP crafted a story to help readers understand the full scope of sustainability work Oshkosh is undertaking, what’s on the horizon, and the significance to their business success. The report includes discussion of recently approved science-based targets and the commitment to align near-term and net-zero targets with the latest climate science. In addition, it features Oshkosh’s work with suppliers to meet its Scope 3 emissions reductions, with measurable positive outcomes. We organized the report in consideration of the frameworks Oshkosh prepares, including GRI, SASB and TCFD.
The design incorporated the company’s new brand as the first large-scale project to bring the refresh to life. IOP curated people and product photography from Oshkosh’s extensive asset library, highlighting the real-world impact of Oshkosh’s vehicles and technologies. We designed original maps, infographics and charts that make key data points quick to find and easy to understand. Comprehensive reporting on emissions reductions was enhanced with easy-to-scan graphics and tables.
Our eighth collaboration with the company, the 2024 Sustainability Report demonstrates how Oshkosh continues to power innovation and their commitment to sustainable growth. Previous work for Oshkosh has been widely recognized by organizations such as the League of American Communication Professionals and the American Graphic Design Awards.
