For a decade and a half, Dasha has brought her fine artist’s sensibility to IOP and submits her imaginative talent to technical graphic rigor. The juggle between these two opposing forms of creativity and her entrenchment in contemporary art world trends inform and elevate her design work across all disciplines.
Dasha’s fine art painting, ceramics and sculpture pieces are held in a number of museums and private collections and have been featured in books. She exhibits widely, and frequently speaks and teaches.
Born in St. Petersburg and trained at the Moscow Institute of Technology, Dasha left Russia after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. She holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute of Art and an MFA from the Yale School of Art. She lives in Park Slope with her daughter and her partner, a filmmaker.
