Kyle Schumacher-Picone
Senior Designer
A southpaw with a (lengthy) hyphenated last name, former vegetarian, and a clinically certified perfectionist, Kyle was born, and grew up, to look at matters from unconventional perspectives — and he brings this wisdom to design.
Kyle began his career with a number of gigs in and around Connecticut before landing at Columbia University’s business school for over a decade. As the brand designer for the school, Kyle oversaw a range of creative spanning print to digital to merchandise. His experience at Columbia was multifaceted, and he can confidently say that with few oddball exceptions, he’s designed for everyone and everything.
Originally from the singularly great state of Connecticut, Kyle is now a proud New Yorker. Outside of work, Kyle is a passionate video gamer and avid reader. He has haunted Fire Island for many years now and considers it a second home. He shares his full-time home with his loving and talkative tabby cat.
A graduate of Emory University in Atlanta — majoring in Sociology and Visual Arts, Kyle learned the depths of graphic design and typography on the job, crediting much of his design education to his internship in Emory University’s Department of Marketing and Communications. He is a graphic design enthusiast who sought out many programs to enhance his skills and career from The Cooper Union Type Design program, to studying UI Design at FIT, to a design intensive at RISD.
